The research and exhibition project „Up Till Now“ plans an examination and contemporary reconsideration of performative art and actionist art from the GDR, opening with the presentation of the work „Replaced“ (Brno 2006) by Barbora Klímová and a (research)archive that will continue to grow during the exhibition.

>GfZK on tour< provides an opportunity to encounter art outside of typical museum spaces. The exhibition concepts are developed especially for the chosen spaces and their functions. In 2008, in collaboration with CPS Real Estate, a temporary exhibition entitled >MusterrÆume< (Show Rooms) was held in an empty building.
The exhibition is conceived as a journey through the realm of sensory illusion. Marcel Duchamp was one of the first 20th century artists to investigate, as early as the 1920s, the scientific premises of optical illusions. The hypnotic „Rotoreliefs“ (1935) are thus prototypical for Duchamp’s examination of visual perception.
Der britische Künstler Simon Starling (geb. 1967) ist Preisträger des 1999 erstmals vergebenen „Blinky-Palermo-Stipendiums der Ostdeutschen Sparkassenstiftung im Freistaat Sachsen“. Die Ausstellung im Untergeschoss zeigt ein während seines Arbeitsaufenthaltes in Leipzig entstandenes Projekt sowie zwei ältere Arbeiten.
