The festival, which takes place in and around the grounds of the GfZK, is an invitation to celebrate together, try out new things and experience an inspiring time at the museum.

Starting at 4 p.m. JJ Kramer will be DJing and from 8 p.m. there will be a DJ set by ANTR next to Backstein bakery.
The summer festival starts on the evening of August 27th within the rooms of the museum.
The program starts at 6 p.m. with a literary reading presenting the results of a writing workshop (on the topic of electrical devices) with the author Sibylla Vričić Hausmann. Following a short break with refreshments, there will be an Artist Talk Hackers & Designers – Experiments in Publishing (in English). Hackers & Designers are guests of the festival and the Dig it? Prototypes for the Museum. The collective from Amsterdam sees itself as a workshop initiative at the intersection of technology, design and art and will provide insights into their experimental work.
Saturday, August 28th, is Neighbourhood Day on the GfZK grounds.
Starting at 2 p.m. there will be a flea market, cake bazaar, table tennis and an artistic plant exchange campaign, initiated by Inga Kerber and Bernd Krauss, on the GfZK terrace. All interested persons are also welcome to set up their own stand with cakes, clothes, odds and ends, and also to bring plants for the garden, which can be given in exchange for a drink at the terrace bar. All are welcome to bring their own tables. On the lawn behind the new GfZK building, two trainers invite you to a game of tennis on the court designed by the artist Asad Raza. For the right style, the professionals at Grand Beauty Salon, a transcultural beauty salon, will offer professional hair cutting and colouring, nail painting and henna tattoos. Food and drink will also be provided. In addition to the “fair sharing” of rescued food through the Leipzig Foodsharing association starting at 4 p.m., the adjacent Café Kapital and the Backstein bakery will also be open throughout the event.
In addition to the current exhibitions, workshops will be held in the rooms of the GfZK and there will be opportunities for sporting activities: Children, as well as adults with children, are invited to the Dot Boss Lego Workshop (in the new GfZK building). In the workshop room of the villa, called the “E-Dojo” for this event, there will be the opportunity to experience digitality and mindfulness. Digital applications have been designed for this purpose, which can be tried out independently or with instruction. Occurring at the same time, Hackers & Designers will host ChatPub and Zine Karaoke in the GfZK auditorium. Both design tools encourage collective publishing. With ChatPub you can design a publication with several people at the same time using a chat interface; Zine Karaoke uses speech-to-text technology to translate spoken word into written text, it searches for images on the internet and inserts the results into a zine layout. The result is a printed zine!
The project Dig it? – Prototypes for the museum is developed as part of “dive in. Programme for Digital Interactions” of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation) with funding by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) through the NEUSTART KULTUR programme.”
