Since March 2022 the GfZK has opened its workshop room with access to the garden as a meeting place for people who have fled from conflict.

In collaboration with activists from Leipzig and interaction Leipzig e.V., we would like to invite affected people, relatives, friends and supporters to use this room in a self-determined way. Here you can get to know one another and exchange ideas, have a cup of tea or coffee together, ask questions and discuss your current needs. Everyone who is interested is welcome!

On Tuesdays we usually meet to learn and practice German together or we organize a variety of creative activities, for example painting with Gouache, upcycling workshops, theatre workshops for children, yoga and much more.

You can find detailed information as well as updates on the program on our Instagram channels interaction Leipzig e.V. and gfzkfuerdich.

Разом із активістами|-ками, які мешкають у Ляйпцигу, та interaction Leipzig e.V., ми запрошуємо усіх постраждалих від війни, друзів та знайомих, а також тих, хто наразі допомагає біженцям – самостійно приймати рішення про наповнення цього простору. Ви маєте ідею як разом провести час? Ми допоможемо її втілити.

Screening: “FRIEND OF THE DECEASED” 1997

The film presentation followed by a discussion is part of the program SPACE FOR YOU, a cooperation with interaction Leipzig e.V.

“Friend of the deceased” remains one of the most successful Ukrainian films in history to this day. The tape was released in 18 countries around the world. The distribution rights in the USA and Canada were acquired by Sony, and in Ukraine, Kryshtofovych’s film became the first film nominated for an Oscar. At the same time, its screenwriter Andriy Kurkov was among the nominees for the “Felix” award of the European Film Academy. 

As part of the film screening, we would like to talk with the audience about why “culture is in time” right now, more than ever. We express our support to the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center – the largest film archive of Ukraine.

Synopsis:
The era of wild capitalism was on the rise when Anatoly’s wife left him. Young, pretty, and intelligent, with knowledge of a foreign language, but somehow Anatoly did not fit into the modern, for him absolutely incomprehensible life. His life changes as he meets his former classmate Dima, now a successful businessman.

The young man becomes involved in the murder of the killer. This ill-considered step leads to a series of strange coincidences, which eventually lead the hero to two completely different women – a young prostitute and a single widow, whose husband died because of Anatoly.
