Yael Davids: Gesture and Diaspora, Performance

Yael Davids interlinks various forms of expression in dance. As a point of reference, she uses the notations of Noa Eshkol, the Yemenite dance, the Hora dance or the Dabke. Davids sees the transfer and modification of gestures and motifs from various cultures as a force that is capable of overcoming obstructions and barriers.
“I am not seeking to develop flexible bodies, but flexible minds…
I am interested in the re-establishment of our human dignity”
– Moshe Feldenkrais

Following the performance, an informal discussion with the artist will take place.
