Still Life with Flowers was created in 1999 in the Herfurth’sche Villa, in a ten-day working process. The architecture of the building served as the starting point for the project. Sarah Sze placed an installation in the stairwell, extending from the basement to just under the roof. However, during a period of over ten years parts of it have become damaged, lost or dirty, so that it has become necessary to carry out a thorough reconstruction of the work of art. This took place in June 2011.
