The collection is comprised of around 22,000 publications and counting. Those interested in the arts are able to find monographies, exhibition catalogues, artist books, magazines and theoretical literature on art, architecture, and design of the 20th and 21st century. Our collection is comprised on publications primarily in German and English, and also contains a number of rare and hard-to-find publications. The collection is orientated towards items which relate to the GfZK’s collection and exhibition profile. The Ministry for Science and Art of the Free State of Saxony has officially recognised the GfZK Library as a specialised research library (Art and Museum Library) and since then the GfZK Library has been a part of the Southwest Germany Libraries Network (SWB).
