Tuan Do Duc studied media technology and cultural and media studies in Leipzig, Merseburg and Istanbul. After his studies he completed a traineeship at the Akademie der Künste Berlin (KUNSTWELTEN – Cultural Mediation).
At the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig, he was involved in the conception and organization of solo and group exhibitions as curator and curatorial assistant from 2020 to 2022 (including Sung Tieu: Multiboy, 2021; Appointment X, 2021; Jota Mombaça: Voices, Voices…Inexplicable Machinery!, 2022; The Broken Pitcher, 2022).
As an independent curator and active member of KV – Verein für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig e.V., he works on various program series and exhibitions (including No to the Habit – The Habit Not To. Questioning the Collective, 2022; On Singularities and Common Grounds, 2023). Most recently, he participated in the postgraduate program Cultures of the Curatorial at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig, where he worked on projects such as Erfrischungsraum 2 at the OSTEN Festival 2022 in Bitterfeld and Fermenting: Perspectives on “East”, 2022/2023 at the GRASSI Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig.
His research interests include gestures of the curatorial, transcultural and transdisciplinary approaches as well as participatory and collaborative practices in (contemporary) art.
He curated the exhibition Multiboy as part of his scholarship at the GfZK.
