Kateryna Mishchenko studied philology, German, English and international literature at the Kyiv National Linguistic University from 2001 to 2006. She continued to deepen her knowledge of these subjects in Hamburg, Mainz and Berlin with the help of DAAD scholarships. In 2012 she participated in the international programme for journalists at the Freie Universität Berlin. She also works as a translator and author, and co-founded the Publishing House Medusa.henko in 2013. Mishchenko has published and edited a large number of books, including Ukrainian Night in collaboration with the photographer Miron Zownir, published by Spector Verlag Leipzig. Kateryna Mishchenko is also a political activist and commentator. She lives and works in Kiev.
As part of the scholarship, she curated the exhibition Sentsov’s Camera.
