After studying art history, media, aesthetics and Hungarian in Hungary, Nagy was a trainee at the Gemäldegalerie Berlin. She completed her master’s degree at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK). She has been awarded scholarships from the Hungarian Cultural Fund as well as the Paul Celan scholarship for translators, Vienna. She was and is a lecturer at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. Edina Nagy completed her doctorate on the topic of “The end of art or the exhaustion and renaissance of a painting-centered artistic paradigm of art.” Nagy also works as a freelance curator, translator and author in Budapest.
She concluded her scholarship with an exhibition: “Versionen – Die Künstlerbibliothek (Versions – The Artist’s Library)”, which she conceived and curated herself.
