It’s that time of the year again!

We are pleased to invite you to our summer festival. This year, we are planning a festival for democracy and diversity, in collaboration with the organisation Hand in Hand Leipzig. From 2 pm onwards, you can visit exhibitions and performances free of charge, or take part in workshops and guided tours.

From 3 pm on the day of the festival, the alliance Hand in Hand will stage a major demonstration in Leipzig under the slogan “Stop right-wing extremism – protect democracy”. The meeting points are Augustusplatz, Simsonplatz and Johanna Park. There will also be a family-friendly rave in Johanna Park (directly opposite the GfZK), where everyone can dance together.

At our new building, you can visit the poster exhibition EMOJIS, featuring artistic works by young Rom*nja from Torgau. This project is organised by Schweizerhaus Püchau e. V. in cooperation with the Association of Roma and Sinti in Saxony, Romano Sumnal e. V.

Posters from the #machdeinkreuz campaign, run by the initiative kompliz*, will be presented on screens in the new and old buildings. Designed by artists who live and work in Saxony, they refer to the state elections on 1 September 2024.
Our forecourt will be transformed into a flea market. Food and drink will be provided by our museum café 292 Karangahape Road, the Backstein bakery, a cake sale, a solidarity bar and a KüfA (Kitchen for all) by Space Leipzig.

We look forward to seeing you!
