Garth Greenwell, 1978 in Louisville/Kentucky geboren, hat unter anderem an der Harvard University und am Iowa Writers’ Workshop studiert. Er lebt in Iowa City. Für »Was zu dir gehört« erhielt er u.a. den British Book Award für das beste Debüt und war Finalist für den PEN/Faulkner Award. Eine Reihe von Medien zählte das Buch zu den »Best Books of 2016«.
