Andrea Büttner’s work The Archive of the Lives of the Little Sisters of Jesus with Circuses and Fun Fairs from 2012 is presented in the current collection exhibition Am Ende diese Arbeit. We take this opportunity to talk with the artist, among other things, about the question of how the mode of production and the value of things are connected. Based on Luc Boltanski and Arnaud Esquerre’s book Enrichissement, we will also talk about the valorization of things (including works of art) through special qualities that are attributed to them. Last but not least, we are talking about the appropriation of craft by anti-progressive conservative narratives. The conversation thus builds a bridge to the exhibition Kunst_Handwerk and will be held in German following the screening of the films, Little Works from 2007 (11 min) and What is so terrible about crafts? from 2019 (33 min).
Due to the applicable security measures, the number of participants* is limited to a maximum of 25 persons.
Admission to the event is free.
Please note that the usual safety distances and hygiene measures during your visit must be respected.
