Actions around the World Localization Day at the GfZK

Every day is World Localisation Day, but once a year we celebrate it with a party! Together, GfZK, lokaltextil and Gärtnerei Belgershain bring the idea of local business to life. The motto is: Think global, act local! In addition to relaxed drinks and local delicacies, there will be informative talks on the CO2-binding potential of hemp and kenaf, bouquets of flowers and figurative bakery, a compost workshop and ice cream. The evening will end with secluded music under the late summer canopy of Backstein Bakery.
Participants include Bäckerei Backstein, Inga Kerber – Bouquet Leipzig, Denkmalsozial gGmbH, Eisfahrrad Leipzig, Gärtnerei Belgershain, Hanffaser Lausitz GbR, Marthe Howitz, lokaltextil and many more.
The initiative of the World Localisation Day comes from the worldwide network local futures, to which many active people in environmental and climate protection belong, among them Vandana Shiva, Jane Goodall, Brian Eno and Naomi Klein as well as lokaltextil and Gärtnerei Belgershain from Leipzig. The aim is to make visible and strengthen local economic cycles and their positive impact on the global situation. For a livable and just future for all.
