Forms of publication celebrates innovative, conceptual, and experimental publication design across print and digital fields, as well as collaborative practices. Evolving from the Walter Tiemann Prize, the 2026 edition consists of three categories: forms of printed publication, forms of digital publication, and forms of peering.
These new formats expand the field beyond printed publications to include digital typographic design and collaborative practices, framing publishing as a dynamic and socially engaged discipline. Emphasizing content, design, and mutual learning, forms of publication seek to engage with contemporary publishing practices.
Bringing together printed and digital publications, the exhibition highlights both shortlisted and awarded works of the forms of publication 2026, as well as research questions addressed within the collaborative setting of the peering program.
