Performativity is explored in the contribution by the contemporary art space GfZK in the series of exhibitions ›Performative Installation‹. However, the specific occasion prompting this was, in fact, also the building of a new exhibition venue at the GfZK in Leipzig by the architects grundei.kaindl.teckert. On the basis of this performatively designed structure artists such as BLESS, Monica Bonvicini, Angela Bulloch, Oliver Hangl, Jeppe Hein, Olaf Nicolai and Pro qm were invited to look at the relationship between architecture and performativity from an art perspective.
