Jeppe Hein ATTRACTION / REPULSION

One of the Danish artist Jeppe Hein’s central themes is the permanent calling into question of the ubiquitous white cube and the relation between public and private. Hein draws visitors to his exhibitions into at times playful adventures that challenge the unity of space – artwork – viewer in both a literal as well as symbolic sense. His interventions are enigmatic: although at first glance escaping attention, their presence exerts a strong physical and psychological influence.
