The exhibition “Öffentlich Privat” (Publicly Private) uses the photographic image of private life to trace the shifts in the public image of private life in both East and West Germany. Thus in the East German photography of the 70s there is an increasing emergence of motifs which describe a private space.

Der Blick auf Kunst ist von Person zu Person unterschiedlich und hängt u. a. von Kenntnissen, Lebensweisen und Bedürfnissen ab. Er ändert sich mit technischen Entwicklungen, sozialen Bedingungen und gesellschaftlichen Systemen.
