Richard Hoeck (* 1965) from Vienna is the second winner of the Blinky Palermo scholarship of the Ostdeutsche Sparkassenstiftung im Freistaat Sachsen, which is co-sponsored by Sparkasse Leipzig. His multi-layered work moves at the intersection of stage production, socio-critical commentary and the creation of alternative infrastructures. The exhibition “The Additional Bedroom” continues a project that began as a thought model in 1999 and is now being realised step by step. Ceiling graffiti is being created in Leipzig. Foam wedges – an abstraction of a piece of furniture – make it possible to view the graffiti from a reclining position.
