The five German artists, whose photographic works have long occupied a firm place in contemporary art, move within the tensions between medium and motif, between artistic and documentary reproduction. The exhibition and catalogue, which were produced as a project at the Ruhr University Bochum, examine how the perception and representation of architecture are reflected and portrayed conceptually and artistically in contemporary photography. In the past, this was primarily reflected in terms of art history and in relation to modernism.
