The artist Tristan Schulze and the curator Hai Nam Nguyen will give a guided tour of the exhibition. Afterwards they invite to a short discussion.
Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic, events that were planned in the context of the exhibition could not be realized. Tristan Schulze has taken this as an opportunity to further develop the work SKIN, which can be seen in the exhibition, into a mobile application for smartphones. The application SCIN creates digital outfits – generated by algorithms – that are part of an endlessly varying fashion collection.
A central theme of the exhibited work SKIN is to consider fashion as a transformation and extension of our bodies. In cooperation with fashion designer Eva Howitz (tout les deux) and with the kind support of the Förderkreis der GfZK, Schulze and Howitz have designed a wearable edition for the exhibition. It is a textile accessory that oscillates between a bag and a piece of clothing. The edition will be presented as a prototype at the finissage.

Hai Nam Ngyen is a scholarship holder of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony at the GfZK. The exhibition COVERS is the final project of the scholarship, funded by the KdFS and the Dr. Klaus Schaffner Prize.
